Capturing the scope and grandeur of Bagan's 2,200 ancient pagodas and temples is impossible from the ground. From the air, there is an embarrassment of riches. I liked this one because it includes the predawn mist rising from the earth as well as the suggestive red of various hot-air balloons. Giraffe tower
A group of giraffes is aptly called a tower. These are from Tanzania.
Near dusk in the Ngorongoro Crater I came upon this tower of giraffes. The pose was so perfect that the picture practically snapped itself. Ouch

I was at a cattle ranch in Uruguay, and hung around the stable the day the vet visited to check on the state of maternity of the herd. The vet inserts a gloved hand into the rear end of the cow, and this particular female was particularly reactive. My blue heaven

Icebergs are not uniformly white. The eerie blue of this one (no filter, no artificial coloration) was striking and I tried to render it justice. The next day my ship was caught in a brutal storm and I earned a certificate for surviving a Force 10 gale.
