Stamm image 1 Birds of a Feather
Walking by Union Station in Washington, DC, on a clear, early summer day, these guys caught my eye.
Stamm image 2 Memorial Day 2022
After having lived abroad for several years, I decided to take a walk on the National Mall on my first Memorial Day back. This man, sitting at the Vietnam Memorial, was having trouble taping a piece of paper to the wall so he could do a rubbing of the name of a fallen soldier. I asked if I could lend a hand, which he accepted. From our brief encounter, I could see that the memories and pain of the war were still raw. I think it is important for all of us to remember how much others have given to our country, and to us, and how much some people have lost.
Stamm image 3 Reflection
The Embassy of Sweden has many water elements to its architectural design. This reflection was captured in one of those elements.
Stamm image 4 Bee on Flower
Washington, DC, has planted many bee-friendly spaces, such as this one on Wisconsin Avenue in Northwest. I was surprised at the bit of camouflage, not having realized previously how similar in color some bees are to black-eyed susans.
