Phil Pasquini

Phil Pasquini is a California native whose photographs have been published in numerous newspapers, magazines, films, documentaries and online publications across the globe. Since 1999 he has been a staff photojournalist at the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs, as well as a contributor to other international publications. He has also worked as a radio correspondent and in television while reporting from the U.S., Europe, North Africa and the Middle East. His lifelong passion for photography developed at an early age continues to this day. He has also done extensive underwater photography in the Pacific Ocean, Caribbean, the Red Sea and Gulf of Aqaba. He is the author of several books including, Domes Arches and Minarets – The History of Islamic-Inspired Buildings in America. (2009)

It took me several minutes of trying to catch the exact moment when the Lebanese flag was fully open and the poster of the mayor and the mosque all lined up in the background.

I had been photographing a street demonstration near the White House when this woman approached a Trump Army knight and began posing for a photograph. It was then that I realized someone had attached the anti-Trump/Pence sticker on her purse.

PPasquini image 4 Gun at the White House
While covering a demonstration at the White House, I happened to notice a man standing in full Scottish regalia near me. Just as I realized he was carrying a gun, two Secret Service agents approached him about the weapon and began disarming him. It turned out to be unloaded.
