Iowa Sate and Oklahoma State, Big 12 Basketball Tournament. Kansas City, Missouri. March 11, 2020

This is a photo of one of the last college basketball games of the 2020 season.Iowa State and Oklahoma State played the opening game of the tournament. During the game it was announced that no fans would be permitted to attend future games of the tournament due to COVID 19. The following morning the entire tournament was cancelled. Player 2 is Caleb Grill, player 11 is Prentiss Nixon. Nixon scored 25 points in the game but Oklahoma State won the game 72-71.

Saks Fifth Avenue, New York City, lit up for the 2019 Christmas season. January 4, 2020

Walking in New York City and heard Christmas music playing. Followed the music to Saks Fifth Avenue where they had a changing light display as the music changed.

Sunset, Clear Lake, Iowa July 10, 2020

Took a 7 pm cruise on The Lady of the Lake which runs about 90 minutes. After the cruise the sun was setting so I took this picture.

The site where on February 3, 1959 a plane crashed killing Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and The Big Bopper. July 10, 2020

Don McLean, in his 1971 song American Pie, wrote about the day the music died. He was writing about a plane crash on February 3, 1959 that killed music stars Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and The Big Bopper. The plane crashed into a cornfield near Clear Lake, Iowa, The musicians has performed at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake that night. A memorial has been set up where the plane crashed and it is still the cornfield.

Retired after many years as a college professor of communication and then PR for several organizations. Serve on the Headliners team and the Photography team at the Press Club.
