Infographic: Countries with Highest Robot Density

Robotic density by country
Installed robots per 10,000 employees in the manufacturing industry in 2016 (Statista)

28 April 2018. We’re back from our time off, and before we begin our regular posting on Monday, we’ll start with an infographic showing density of robots in the workforce among nations in the world. Robotics is a topic we follow at Science & Enterprise, and our friends at Statista published a chart this week showing installed industrial robots per 10,000 manufacturing workers, from data compiled in 2016 by International Federation of Robotics.

The data indicate South Korea leads all countries with 631 industrial robots installed for each 10,000 workers, followed by Singapore with 488. Germany ranks third with 309 robots per 10,000 workers, followed closely by Japan with 303. The United States ranks fifth in the world with 189, between Denmark and Italy.

China ranks well down the list with 68 robots per 10,000 workers, even lower than the worldwide average of 74. India has only 3 robots installed per 10,000 employees.
