Earlier this year, MBD became OriginOil\u2019s first customer for a research-scale system. Based on the success of this phase, MBD will purchase progressively larger systems to serve its three major power station projects in Australia.<\/p>\n<p>OriginOil says its algae production process is similar to growing grass hydroponically, and thus generates no toxins. The technology, says the company, fits in with petroleum companies current refinery processes, and can be &#8220;cracked&#8221; into the lighter components of crude oil such as jet fuel, diesel, gasoline, solvents and plastics.<\/p>\n<p>MBD Energy is a founding member of the Bio CCS program.
