Cavalier is a former Philadelphia 76ers cheerleader with a masters degree from University of Pennsylvania, where she studied the role of citizens in science.<\/p>\n<p>One of the goals of Science Cheerleader is to break the stereotype &#8212; some may even call it a stigma &#8212; of nerdy, geeky scientists as something other than real people.
