Meeting in Eilat, Israel, the \u20ac33 million ($45.7 million) approved by EUREKA will fund 25 projects in renewable energy, agrofood technology, biotechnology, physical sciences, IT and electronics, and industrial manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>Projects funded by EUREKA match up partners from two or more member countries, including smaller enterprises, large industry, and research institutes. The group&#8217;s initiatives generally address challenges such as climate change, energy security, and limited water resources. EUREKA now supports more than 300 collaborative projects in a variety of industries, totaling over \u20ac1.5 billion ($2.1 billion).<\/p>\n<p>EUREKA members represent countries in Europe, as well as Turkey, Russia, Ukraine, and Israel. The chair of Eureka rotates, with Israel serving as chair for 2010-2011.
