23 July 2018. The health care system is something that we are all bound to engage with at some point or another. So it\u2019s extremely important that we keep on top of its latest news and updates. Here are a couple of developments that you might not have heard about yet.<\/p>\n

Maestro advantage<\/b><\/p>\n

Just this month, companies Cerner and Lumeris have declared a ten-year partnership in which they will collaborate to develop the Maestro Advantage<\/a> scheme. By bringing together Cerner\u2019s EHR (electronic health record) technologies alongside other IT solutions and Lumeris\u2019 focus on value-based health care, the two companies intend to assist hospitals in providing value-based care arrangements for patients. This includes Medicare Advantage and provider-sponsored health plans. By combining data and provider\u2019s workflows, the scheme will allow clinicians the opportunity to improve the opportunities for clients in value-based plans!<\/p>\n

Telemedicine and web pharmacies<\/b><\/p>\n

As increasing numbers of us are obtaining smartphones<\/a> and more and more aspects of our lives become hosted by the web, it may not come as all too much of a surprise to us that even the realm of medicine is beginning to provide services through cell and online. While there are all sorts of medical services on the web right now, including the notorious self-diagnosis blogs that leave every worried sick about minor symptoms, there are some more reliable and beneficial developments launching as we speak. For now, let\u2019s focus on telemedicine and web pharmacies.<\/p>\n

Telemedicine<\/i><\/p>\n

Telemedicine is essentially the use of telecommunications technology by doctors or physicians to remotely connect to their patients. There are plenty of benefits to telemedicine consulting beyond avoiding the irritating waiting period while booking an appointment. If you are consulting a doctor, you are most likely feeling under the weather, and many of us would rather receive advice from the comfort of our own homes rather than having to leave the house to see a professional in person. Of course, there are some situations where a doctor will need to physically examine you to effectively diagnose your symptoms. But telemedicine can be used to great benefits, such as renewing repeat prescriptions, delivering test results, or keeping a more consistent means of communication between clinic and patient between visits.<\/p>\n

Web pharmacies<\/i><\/p>\n

Many people experience a similar problem when it comes to collecting their prescriptions: they get tied up with other responsibilities or have difficulty in leaving the house in order to pick up the medical supplies that they need. This results in missed medication and the consequent deterioration of personal conditions. Web pharmacies offer the service of prescription<\/a> delivery, bringing the items on the right date, straight through your letterbox or in your designated safe space. They will even remind you that it\u2019s time to reorder when your supplies are running low.<\/p>\n

These are just a few progressions in health care. But they are significantly improving the services that we receive on a day to day basis.<\/p>\n
