The company says the new Enlist system builds on its previous work in chemistry and biotechnology.<\/p>\n<p>The product was designed to help farmers reduce weeds that have adapted to common herbicides. This adaption process has made weeds more difficult to control, resulting in a decline of herbicide performance. The Enlist system is also designed to protect crops bred or engineered to be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.isaaa.org\/resources\/publications\/pocketk\/10\/default.asp\">tolerant of herbicides<\/a>, such as 2,4-D and glyphosates.<\/p>\n<p>Dow says commercial launch of the Enlist system is scheduled for 2013.
