NFSTC conducts forensic research, education programs, and laboratory quality reviews, and evaluates forensic technologies.<\/p>\n<p>The Forensic Innovation Center (FIC) will conduct its work under contracts, separate from the grants and cooperative agreements that fund NFSTC. FIC&#8217;s capabilities include instructional design, Web-based and hands-on training, project management, equipment procurement, forensic technology evaluation and assistance, and assessment and consulting services.<\/p>\n<p>NFSTC says an informal business cluster has already been created,\u00a0 from a variety of partners drawn to the area to work on projects for homeland security, defense, and justice clients.
