Denny worked as a photographer, videographer and editor at USA Today for over 20 years. Before that he was photo director at The Detroit News and staff photographer at the Journal Inquirer in Connecticut. He cut his teeth in photojournalism at The Michigan Daily at the University of Michigan

The summer of 2021 saw the timely return of the Brood X cicadas. While a nuisance to many, I found them to be quite entertaining and comical at times. Goodbye for another 17 years, my friends.

Two small for the both of us
Two house sparrows hatched and took up residence for a few weeks in June in our new birdhouse. Each day they got bolder, reaching out to mama for food, before one day flying the proverbial coop to find their own food and mate.
