From Torah:" "The Spirit of the Lord, follows the blood of the lamb." & "Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty!" -2 Cor 3:17..At the core of American Heritage history was this firm belief of early settlers culture, seen in speeches & documents of early colonial forefathers & presidents;Travailing against powers of foreign & domestic tyranny! One nation Under God, believing in covenant salvation of Jesus Christ. www.ThisIsMyFlag.org artist: Shelli JBM Landon
Traveling to Russia in 1987, a few weeks before Glasnost broke loose, Shelli witnessed the hinge of history snap! Millions of Desperate souls yearning for freedom and the core message of what had founded that in America. A few weeks later in St. Louis MO on 4th of July, she was again deeply impressed by Col Eugene Byrd speaking as he returned from behind the Berlin Wall in Germany, a former warden over Nazi War Criminals, "If you do not repent America of your sins morally, financially, politically and spiritually, die you will an early death!" As she prayed after that riveting speech, a vision unfolded of this mural, "The Travail of the Flag". The sound of a heavenly choir accompanied it, from William Coper' s famous old hymn, "There is a fountain filled with blood, drawn through Emanuel's veins, and sinners plunged beneath that flood loose all their guilty stains!" Images of colonial and modern history across the globe poured out of the riveted side of the Christ and the splinters of the 'ol woden cross' faded away, to reveal Him hanging on a map of the entire globe, a sacrifice of love for all. It power flowed westward geographically and chronologically toward the white sand bars of the American Coast Line. It's cause taken up in war scenes of the bloody Revolutionary War, Civil War and World Wars. Shelli painted it on a 4 x 12 ft canvas. She was invited to repaint the center portion of it in 1989 on the Berlin Wall at Potts Damer Plaza as the wall fell and millions rushed to freedom. A BBC newscaster demanded as she painted, "Where was Jesus when the wall went up?" Shelli answered, "It doesn't matter, He is HERE BRINGING IT DOWN! Where the Spirit of the Lord is, There is liberty!" 6 million ears heard it. Shelli rejoiced, a dream come true, for at age 16 at the Louvre Museum, after being deeply impressed that the tip of one's Paint brush could touch generation to come, she had prayed, "Lord teach me to paint like the Great Masters and I promise I will serve you my whole life long." In 1990, her painting ended up in the Berbridge Collection at the Sacred Arts Museum in Eureka Springs Ar next to a Rembrandt & Carivagio. In freezing rain at the Berlin wall, and with teams of students in the Jamaican Jungle, painting on walls of orphanages with sweat running down her back, that prayer would return with tears of joy. www.ThisIsMyFlag.org. www.HarpsTeaMe.com www.SingItAmerica.com
